Growing, Farming and Making Napa Valley Wines

As a farmer, I have had the distinct and unique pleasure of growing grapes in many great vineyards in Napa Valley for more than two decades. Each is unique in terroir characteristics, from the soil conditions and weather patterns, to each vine’s growth and fruit production levels and quality.

For each vineyard, I’ve worked with different acclaimed winemakers. I farmed their vines to produce the fruit characteristics most desired by them.
Eventually, I grew my vineyard management business to a level at which I could buy grapes from some of these famous vineyards to make my own wines.

Where It All Began

Vineyard Farming

Situated in Oak Knoll, my first vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon (2014) comes from a prime, Napa Valley vineyard. It’s known for its beauty and the exceptional quality of fruit the vines produce. Farmed by my company, the vines were raised without the restriction of wire tie-downs. This method allowed for the leaves to be uniformly dappled in sunlight creating the highly coveted and desired berry size, skin thickness and flavor profile for my wine.

Our Featured Wines

2015 Cabernet Sauvignon

From Sommelier Christopher Sawyer ~

Made with world-class grapes grown in the Oak Knoll District. This dark, rich and full-bodied wine opens up with lofty aromas of wild berries, dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, bay laurel, and roasted walnuts. In the glass, the deep flavors of dark cherry, ripe plum, raspberry, black currant and cassis are perfectly balanced with lavish notes of toffee, cardamom, espresso beans, creamy texture, smooth tannins, and a generous finish that makes every sip count. Elegant and complex. Decant when young or age up to 20 years.

2017 Sauvignon Blanc

From Sommelier Christopher Sawyer ~

This aromatic gem is made with world-class fruit from Ryan’s Vineyard owned by the Verhey family on Big Ranch Road, north of Napa. The perfect mixture of gravelly soils, warm days and cool breezes blowing in from the bay in the afternoon make this an ideal spot to grow Sauvignon Blanc grapes with expressive flavors, racy acidity, and natural verve. With a lovely pale golden hue, this new release opens up with attractive aromas of fresh spring flowers, ripe melons, tangy citrus, and pastry crust. In the glass, the ripe flavors of Crenshaw melon, gooseberry, grapefruit and fresh key lime pie are enhanced with lively notes of white pepper and macadamia nuts, creamy texture, zippy acidity, and a rewarding finish that is dry instead of sweet.

2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

From Sommelier Christopher Sawyer ~

From the stunning 2014 vintage, this new limited-release Cabernet Sauvignon is made with premium fruit from Napa Valley. Rich, elegant and complex, the wine features attractive aromas of dark fruits, ripe berries, fresh sage, soy sauce, licorice, and cedar box. On the palate, sweet core flavors of dark cherry, ripe plum and briary blackberry are entwined with dazzling notes of fresh currants, black figs, cinnamon, clove, and black truffle. These deep flavors are layered with bright acidity, firm tannins, and lingering notes of savory spice, smoke, and fine French oak. A masterpiece from start to finish. Drink now or cellar for 10-15 years.
